Antarctic dress up

I am 10,5h away from my takeoff to Antarctica in a C17 US-airforce plane to Scott Base in Antarctica. It's on Ross Island besides McMurdo US research station at the Ross Ice Shelf. The flight will take about 5,5h for about 2500km. Then I'll be around 78° south. The maximum temperature today was -5°C so we got some nice cloth to wear. sunshine for 24h if there are no clouds. We will be camping on the ice shelf for about 8 days and will do some experiments like ice core drillings, seal watching, geology, weather measurements, radar inspections,... As I got to get ready I'll just give you some first impressions until I am coming back:

Extreme Cold Weather gear - without face mask

Just the light wind jacket

Boots for ice insulation up to -100°C

main transportation on the ice (without penguin and dog, thats just santa parade and a different story)
